SciFi and Fantasy Art: Griffin Brooch

It started with the Book of Kells and from design to design, I ended up with this one. I'm able to adapt it to every metal (I made one in gold for my mum, eh) but I mostly cast silver or bronze and set it with quite a lot of different stone. This one is Rainbow Moonstone on a black backing, hence the mighty blue flash. The process is Lost wax casting (google it :)) yes, I sell some but not this one. It's just because I know there are quite a lot of griffin addicts around here :) The size is 3in. from head to toe.

Skilled.. time will tell Anyway, I do sell those griffins on Ebay amongst other things (shameless plug : look for seller thecrazyferret or for somk in the auction title) but I don't make a lot of them. Lost wax casting is an old and very efficient process.. personnally, I,ve always thought that soldering was the tricky part.. especially big pieces in sterling silver !"
