SciFi and Fantasy Art: Griffin Brooch

It started with the Book of Kells and from design to design, I ended up with this one. I'm able to adapt it to every metal (I made one in gold for my mum, eh) but I mostly cast silver or bronze and set it with quite a lot of different stone. This one is Rainbow Moonstone on a black backing, hence the mighty blue flash. The process is Lost wax casting (google it :)) yes, I sell some but not this one. It's just because I know there are quite a lot of griffin addicts around here :) The size is 3in. from head to toe.

Wow... This is very beautiful. You must be very skilled to create the design and bring it to life, too. I'd love to have a pretty little brooch like this!

Lost wax? Nuh uh...you lie! You are seriously very patient, and your casting skills rock! This is awesome!

:-) Sophie 'SoMK' M.Klesen replies: "Thank you all for the cool comments ! Patient ? sure, I am. Skilled.. time will tell 14 Anyway, I do sell those griffins on Ebay amongst other things (shameless plug : look for seller thecrazyferret or for somk in the auction title) but I don't make a lot of them. Lost wax casting is an old and very efficient process.. personnally, I,ve always thought that soldering was the tricky part.. especially big pieces in sterling silver !"
